At The Fx Academy we believe that we have a unique philosophy, viewpoint and approach to trading. This viewpoint has the potential to be misunderstood. To limit the amount of misunderstanding I felt it necessary to breakdown and outline the theory underlying our philosophy. The WHY/reasoning behind out outlook and the reason I make the decisions I make in relationship to the handling of knowledge and data.
The principles below are the guidelines I use in order to handle data and understand the world around me. These are the the principles that allow me to ascertain the truth from information I receive.
With that in mind we get to the first principle which is the definition of truth.
0) The Truth is that which works most of the time. When it comes to handling information if you don't work with the truth you will have more losses than are necessary or desirable. in life or any activity it is important to seek and work with the truth for the best results however this definition of the truth directly leads to the first problem and second principle which is what is the definition of "works" ?
The definition of work is "to produce the desired effect". And if we drill down deeper into this definition we find that what each individual deems to be the desired effect will vary.
for most individuals the desired effect or the reason why they're trading is to make money, That much is obvious ,however, most individuals never dig down deeper and ask how much money do they want to make ? over what time frame ?
If you follow this line of thinking eventually unveil your actual goals and objectives and will have the gross (Basic form) of a plan coming to light.
The goal of these principles is to unveil truth. And you can see by the definition of truth we have that by working with the truth you will produce the desired effect/results.
This brings us to the sub-principle here which is:
0a) The Truth is relative- It depends on what you are trying to achieve and based upon the experience and knowledge you already possess. I once saw a quote that "What is true is true for you" And I feel like this quote is a good codification of this principle.
In Truth Principle 0 Is the most important principle which when fully understood and applies generates practical and usable knowledge which the individual can directly apply to their own live and endeavors.
When an individual works with the truth, They should produce the results they desire.
1) Any body of knowledge which is disordered or has insufficiently defined terms and relationships is basically useless.
When you have data you need to know how it applies, when it applies, where it applies and why it works or else how will you be able to use the knowledge in order to achieve your goals ?
This philosophy has many goals and objectives. I've set these goals and objectives based on my own life experience. I never want to spend more time, energy or effort than is necessary in order to achieve my goals. when I was younger I expended alot of energy and effort to move closer towards my goals. In the end my life still went up in flames and I felt like I made no progress.
I never want to expend unnecessary effort or waste time unnecessarily. Being a Teen during the early social media days seeing all these new self development gurus I studied them religiously. I didn't just drink the koolade, I swam in it. After my life imploded and I was left to pick up the pieces I had to find out why and what went wrong, I came to the conclusion that it wasn't the gurus that lead me astray but they were just a tool that I used to lead myself astray. Even though it wasn't their fault it lead me to have a lingering distrust of any and all the information/data I had.
If the data/information that I was operating from was wrong, incomplete or insufficient, its not wonder that I ended up in a position where my life was in tattered. I never wanted to be in that state again. So I refined my thinking and sorted through all the information i had to set out these three for what I see as a valuable philosophy:
1) It must be practical, It must be able to be used or applied for the benefit of not just the individual, but also his comrades, society and the world at large.
2) It must prevent the unnecessary waste of resources (I consider time and energy to be resources)
3) It must work (Produce the desired effect)
The first thing I had to understand was what the truth was, Once I understood that, Everything else fell into place.
