One of my biggest confusions in life was the difference between goals versus desires. Everyone has desires, but when you look at others its not clear that they have goals.
The difference between goals and desires is a simple one. A goal is something you change your life for.
You cannot be said to have a goal unless you take action on it or towards it. Typically that action will involve a change in your current method of operation in your day to day life.
For example someone who in this moment creates a goal for himself to be a profitable trader will have to change some form of life or way of living in order to be true to that goal. The change could be a small change such as changing the type of content you consume.
Or it could be a small change such as moving town or moving cities for more opportunity. The size of the change doesn't matter, Its the change itself. An individual who has created a "goal" for himself in some way but doesn't implement change into his life, activites or mode of operation has not made a goal. He's simple become more cognizant of a desire. Not neccessarily a bad step but its the implementation of change which starts an individual on his way to achieving a goal.
Some individuals are more able to handle change than others. Some people activiely (or unwittingly) fight change, However, unless you can atleast implement atleast a small change into your own life you can not be said to be moving forward towards your goals.
Individuals can also swing to far in the opposite direction where they're always changing obsessively and compulsively.
Its about being cause over change.
There is a common misconception that an individual needs to implement massive changes into his life in order to "get started". This is not the case.
What is probably better for an individual who has never had to implement change into his life in order to achieve a goal is to start off with small changes, When he has successfully implemented small changes and made them stick then move onto larger and larger changes.
